66ers Host Local Kids for Clinic

San Bernardino, CA - The Inland Empire 66ers and Joe Baca Jr. will co-host the 5th annual Baseball & Fitness Clinic at Arrowhead Credit Union Park on Saturday, January 8th.

"Our foundation is glad to partner with the Inland Empire 66ers in providing a free fitness clinic that will help many children," said co-host Joe Baca Jr. "We want to help these kids learn about the key themes of fun, fitness and the fundamentals of baseball."

The Joe Baca Foundations Baseball & Fitness Clinic and Health Fair will give children a chance to learn the basic fundamentals of baseball as well as receive fitness tips and health benefits like free health screenings and haircuts. All participants also get a free McDonald's lunch, and the first 400 kids will receive a free Angels cap.

"We are proud to have the Joe Baca Foundation include us as we work together to give local kids some amazing opportunities," said 66ers Assistant General Manager Ryan English." We love having the opportunity to bring the kid friendly atmosphere of 66ers baseball we deliver all summer long to the children of the Inland Empire at this free event."

The clinic is for children between the ages of 7 and 13. Session one is for boys and girls ages 7-9. Registration starts at 8:00 am with the first session going from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Session two, for children between the ages of 10 and 13, will run from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Participants have the opportunity to meet past, present and future professional baseball players, including recent Inland Empire 66ers star Trayvon Robinson. Ronald McDonald and the 66ers own fan favorite Bernie, will also make special appearances during the event.

The Inland Empire 66ers 2011 season begins on Thursday, April 7th when the California League partners of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim host the rival Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
