"I want to thank everyone who showed up to cheer us on, especially the kids coming from school in these weather conditions. Tulsa responded with a 12-1 run to pull within three before Iowa finished the half up by eight.
Iowa outscored Tulsa 28-20 in the third quarter to stretch their lead to 16, but the 66ers used a 10-2 run early in the fourth quarter to get within single digits. Tulsa pulled within six points on a pair of Shakur free throws with six seconds remaining, but the Energy connected at the foul line to hold off the 66ers
Roberson scored 10 points with six rebounds and three steals in the fourth quarter, playing all 12 minutes.
Tulsa pulled down 41 rebounds and distributed 24 assists, including 11 off of steals.
