66ers Drive Past Bayhawks at 2009 Showcase

OREM, UT - Jan. 6, 2008 - Chris Richard scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead a balanced scoring attack for the Tulsa 66ers in their 94-85 victory against the Erie BayHawks at the 2009 NBA Development League Showcase on the home floor of the Utah Flash at the McKay Events Center in Orem, Utah.

The 66ers (5-12) shot 53.0 percent from the field to overcome 19 turnovers in the win. Ryan Humphrey scored 16 points, Derrick Dial poured in 14 off the bench and Ronald DuPree had 15 points, 9 rebounds and five assists to aid Tulsa, which attempted 24 fewer field goals than Erie.

"We stuck with it. Defensively, everybody was out there helping each other. It really came together for us," said DuPree of the effort.

Erik Daniels had a game-high 20 points and Jarvis Gunter came off the bench to grab 14 rebounds, also a game high, to lead the BayHawks, who never led and fell behind by as many as 21. Ivan Harris added 15 points and Maureece Rice notched 13 points for Erie.

Off the bench, Oliver Lafayette had 15 points and Mike Cook helped out with 11. Both teams were successful from long range as the BayHawks (9-7) made seven of 16 three-pointers, while the 66ers made five of 12 on the game.

Tulsa returns to NBA D-League Showcase action on Thursday, Jan. 8 when they face the defending NBA D-League Champion Idaho Stampede. Erie finishes out their NBA D-League Showcase schedule tomorrow, Jan. 7, when they match up against the Albuquerque Thunderbirds.
