66ers Beat Kemp and Quakes

Inland Empire (37-49, 6-10) took the series over the Matt Kemp led Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (43-43, 6-9) 4-2. 66ers second baseman Taylor Lindsey went 3-for-4 with an RBI double in the 7th inning to give Inland Empire a lead it would keep. Lindsey now has 38 RBIs on the year, good for third on the team.

The 66ers offense got off to a fast start as center fielder Drew Heid began the game with a leadoff double. He would be cashed in on right fielder Randal Grichuk's 2 RBI double with the bases loaded to give the 66ers, an early 2-0 lead. Grichuk had a productive day in the cleanup spot as he went 2-for-4 with the 2 RBIs. 66ers left fielder Ryan Jones had a good day at the plate has he went 2-for-4 as well. Jones is now hitting .264.

66ers starter Manny Correa kept the Quakes offense at bay as he went an effective 7 innings giving up only two earned runs, striking out 4, including big league all-star Matt Kemp twice. The quality start earned him a win to improve to 5-6 on the year. Quakes starter Jon Michael Redding took the loss to fall to 4-2. 66ers relievers Manuel Flores and Daniel Tillman combined for 2 perfect innings striking out 4. Tillman was credited with his second save of the year. The 66ers will welcome the Visalia Rawhide to San Manuel Stadium tomorrow at 7:05 pm.
