6 Former, 1 Current Logger Selected on Day 2 of MLB Draft

La Crosse, Wis. - It was a big day for six alums of the La Crosse Loggers and one current signee as the organization celebrated six players getting their name called on the second day of this 2017 Major League Baseball Draft.

2014 Logger catcher Riley Adams (San Diego) led the way when he was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 99th overall pick in the third round. Adams hit .257 with two home runs and 13 RBI's for La Crosse during the 2014 seson. Four selections later, the Washington Nationals selected 2016 Logger hurler Nick Raquet (William & Mary). Raquet was one of the Loggers top pitchers last summer when he went 4-4 with a 2.22 ERA and led the team with 62 strikeouts in 64.2 innings. Raquet was then joined be fellow William & Mary and 2016 Logger teammate, Cullen Large, who was selected with the 159th overall pick by Toronto. Large was the Loggers co-MVP last summer when he hit .328 with a team-best 20 doubles, four homers and 38 RBI's.

The sixth round saw two former Loggers selected in back-to-back picks when 2015 Northwoods League MVP Mason McCoy (Iowa) was taken by the Baltimore Orioles with the 188th pick. Along with winning the NWL MVP in 2015, McCoy re-wrote the Loggers single season and career record books during his impressive two-year stint in Logger pinstripes. One pick later, the Blue Jays continued their run on former Loggers when they selected 2015 Logger Brock Lundquist (Long Beach State). Lundquist hit .317 with a team-record 21 doubles, two homers and 42 RBI's in 2015.

Current Logger signee Logan Harasta (Buffalo) then went in the seventh round to the San Francisco Giants with the 216th overall pick. Harasta had yet to report to La Crosse as he had been waiting on the results of the draft.

Rounding out the busy day was 2014 outfielder Jack Meggs (Washington) who went 291st overall to the Oakland A's. Meggs hit .304 with ten doubles, two homers, 13 RBI's and swiped 11 bags in 2014.
