5 Keys to Saturday Night's Match vs. Milwaukee

December 16, 2016 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Syracuse Silver Knights News Release

1. Who will win the match if it's close? The Knights three losses are by a total of four goals. This team could just as easily be 4-0 as 1-3. The Wave have played eight games, with a goal differential of 2, and five of their matches have been decided by two goals or less.

2. Can the Silver Knights cut out costly errors? An own goal versus Florida, two softies at the Heat, and breakdowns late in the fourth have hurt Syracuse this year. The Knights need to eliminate unforced errors in a big way and capitalize more regularly on errors by their opponents.

3. Joey T vs. Mad Max Syracuse forward Joey Tavernese scored five goals in his last match versus Harrisburg - Milwaukee forward Ian Bennett tallied seven goals in his last match against Chicago. The forward that wins the scoring battle could tip the balance to his side in Saturday's match.

4. Five and Under Given Syracuse has yet to hit double-digits in scoring in their opening four matches of the season, holding the Wave to a maximum of five goals is of paramount importance. The Silver Knights cannot afford defensive mistakes in their own half.

5. Which Keeper will we see? The Wave play two keepers, with shot-stopper Josh Lemos leading the team in wins and save percentage. That said, keeper Rafael Dias has logged one-third of the minutes in goal so far this season. Syracuse's Andrew Coughlin has been the main man for the Silver Knights, but he's lost 3 straight. Will he return to the stellar form fans saw in the opener?
