5.24.11 Grady, Bocage Earn Weekly AFL Honors

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze are pleased to announce that QB Tommy Grady (6-7, 245, Utah) and WR Chris Bocage (5-10, 190, USC) have been named the Russell Athletic Co-Offensive Player of the Week and JLS Ironman of the Week by the Arena Football League, respectively.

Grady completed 23 of his 32 passes for 319-yards and nine touchdowns in the Blaze's victory over the San Jose SaberCats, 76-68. Grady also tallied two rushes for 8-yards and one touchdown. In nine games, Grady ranks atop the AFL in passing yards per game (316.6) and second in total offense (2,891).

In Bocage's Blaze debut, he collected six receptions for 75-yards, and three touchdowns in the team's victory over San Jose. Bocage also recorded 158 kick return yards, including one for a touchdown. He tallied 233 all-purpose yards.

Utah's DB Brandon Taylor (5-11, 195, New Hampshire) was also a candidate for the Riddell Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The Arena Football League will also be awarding the National Guard MVP of the Week, where fans are given the opportunity to select the winner on Facebook and ArenaFootball.com. Candidates include Tampa Bay LB Cliff Dukes, Utah QB Tommy Grady and Chicago QB Russ Michna. The winner will be announced on Thursday, May 26, 2011.
