VooDoo Set for Game at Philadelphia Soul on Friday

NEW ORLEANS (May 24, 2011) - The New Orleans VooDoo (2-8) will travel to the Philadelphia Soul on Friday, May 27. Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. CDT in the Wells Fargo Center.

Both teams are coming off of losses with the VooDoo falling to Arizona Rattlers, 61-53, and the Soul being victimized by the Cleveland Gladiators, 59-41, in a key divisional matchup. The Soul gave up two safeties in the loss, and was limited to just 240 yards offensively.
New Orleans is coming off of one of its better performances of the season - its best at home - with its 53 points and 314 yards of total offense. Quarterback D. Bryant had 285 yards passing, while completing 25-of-34 passes for six touchdowns in his debut, but had three costly interceptions. Bryant's first two passes in a VooDoo uniform went for touchdowns.
Also having a career day was wide receiver PJ Berry with a VooDoo single-game record 339 all-purpose yards in the loss. Berry is averaging a league best 216.9 all-purpose yards per game. In six of the VooDoo's 10 games this season, Berry has totaled 200-plus all-purpose yards.
Leading the Soul is wide receiver Donovan Morgan with 1,270 yards receiving and 23 touchdowns. Morgan's average of 127.0 receiving yards/game ranks third in the AFL.
This will be the fourth meeting between the Soul and VooDoo, with New Orleans holding the all-time series advantage 2-1. However, the last meeting in 2007 was claimed by the Soul, winning 78-34 in Philadelphia.
