#4 - Mateo Nobert
Height: 5'11 ¬Â³ | Weight: 143 lbs
Year of Birth: 2007
Shoots: Left
A centreman with magical hands and above-average peripheral vision, Mateo is a player who simply makes his teammates better. A real thinker on the ice, he is extremely patient with the puck, making him an exceptional playmaker and passer. He's sure to get more explosive on his skates as he adds muscle mass, making him harder to contain.
Nobert finished 2nd in Lac St-Louis scoring with 44 points (20G, 24A) in 42 gmes.
The vast majority of scouts have a hard time explaining the fact that he did not make the Team Québec lineup that won the bronze medal at the recent Canada Games in PEI.
According to Benoît Payment, CSR Scout (MAR '23):
Mateo Nobert combines many of the top assets that are looked for in a forward. As a centerman, he has shown great maturity in his play. He excels in his reading of the game thanks to his high hockey sense. He also cuts up the ice well and breaks up a lot of plays, both in the defensive and neutral zones. Nobert easily gets the offense going and creates opportunities for his linemates, which explains his presence among the top scorers in his league. His impeccable work ethic and his very high potential make him a top prospect.
