
3-Day 'Salute to America' Set for Independence Day Weekend

Organizers efforts include 2 fireworks spectaculars, free flags and ceremonies honoring military
Greenville, SC: Beginning Friday night, July 4th, a special 3-day celebration, "Salute to America", will be held at G-Braves stadium, including special pre-game ceremonies and tributes to past and present military personnel with celebrations both on the field and in the skies.
"We wanted to make this year a celebration to remember, and also take the opportunity to honor those who have served our country over the years," said Greenville Braves General Manager Steve DeSalvo.
Friday night, the 1st 5,000 fans will receive an American Flag, compliments of Old Navy, and enjoy an incredible post-game fireworks display. Saturday's festivities also will feature another spectacular fireworks show, as the 1st 1,000 fans will receive a Hank Aaron bobblehead doll.
Sunday, past and present military personnel coming in uniform will receive free admission for themselves and 3 guests, be honored in a special pre-game ceremony, and receive a free Carolina Pride hot dog and drink. The first 2,500 fans will receive American Flag car flags. If anyone has scrapbooks with pictures of their Military Days or Memorabilia of any war or conflict they would like to share with the public on Sunday, July 6, they should call Brenda Yoder @ 299-3456 to make arrangements to have a table set up.
