
21 Hit Attack Leads Rome to 11-3 Win

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Asheville Tourists 11-3 Tuesday evening at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 1,584.
Derian Cruz had a two run base hit in the third inning and William Contreras added an RBI single giving Rome a 3-0 lead. Asheville made it a 3-2 game in the fourth on a run scoring double by Ramon Marcelino and Ryan Vilade's single to plate a run. Rome added insurance runs in the sixth and seventh. In the sixth Drew Lugbauer singled home a run and in the seventh Rome touched the plate seven times to pull away for the 11-2 score. The Tourists plated a run in the eighth but the lead was too much and Rome cruises to the 11-3 win. Everyone in Rome's line-up got at least one hit in the game.
Rome starter Drew Harrington (3-2) gets the win going five innings allowing six hits and two runs. Asheville's Lucas Gilbreath (3-3) is hit with the loss.
