New Jersey Titans News Release
The North American Hockey League held its annual draft yesterday with the Titans having eight picks in it.
Prior to the draft, the Titans had traded their 27th overall pick (first round) and their third-round pick in the 2023 draft to the Austin Bruins for the Bruins 2022 first-round pick (14th overall) which turned out to be defenseman Joe Harney of the Blackfalds Bulldogs.
Overall, the Titans selected two defensemen, five forwards and one goalie in terms of position. The Titans selected two players with a 2002 birth year; three players with a 2003 birth yea; two players with a 2004 birth year, and one player with a 2005 birth year.
"What an exciting day for the organization" said Titans head coach and general manager Craig Doremus. The NAHL entry draft is such a great day for the team and players alike. It is the culmination of many months of hard work by the scouting staff and coaches. While it is not an exact science we believe in and trust our process in terms of doing our proper homework and research into the players on and off the ice. We are excited to welcome each of our draft picks to main camp in July with an opportunity to battle for a spot on our team next season. We think each player brings specific skills and abilities that can be big parts to defending our Robertson Cup Championship. I know I speak for everyone when I say how excited we are to get to main camp in July and see a great group of players compete for the opportunity to be a New Jersey Titan" concluded Doremus.
