Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
PITTSBURGH - The Riverhounds Development Academy (RDA) is pleased to announce its coaching staff and overall Academy structure for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.
In addition to adding coaches, the RDA has added new programs and adjusted the overall structure of the youth model. The structure of the RDA will start at the entry-level age group, U10 (2010), and is broken into three stages of development. Each stage will have a Phase Coordinator who will manage the coaches and provide oversight and direction.
"We have worked hard over the past couple of months to assemble a staff that is hungry and ready to get to work," Academy Director Scott Gibson said. "We have had many positive meetings with every coach in which we have set our goals and action plans for the new season. It is very important that our coaching staff is a close-knit family for which ideas are shared and the overall philosophy of the club is maintained."
The basic model of the academy can be viewed below:
In addition to the announced staff found below and overall Academy structure adjustments, former Riverhounds SC Sporting Director and Academy Coach Jason Kutney will now be working with all RDA groups on a rotational basis throughout the year as a lead technical trainer.
Over the coming month, the RDA will be holding tryouts for the 2019-2020 RDA season for all interested players. There will be a third round of tryout dates added in early June and those will be announced soon. Registration is active for RDA tryouts at riverhounds.com/tryouts.
