2014 Denver Outlaws Schedule Announced

November 22, 2013 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL)
Denver Outlaws News Release

DENVER - The Outlaws' 14-game 2014 schedule was announced by Major League Lacrosse on Friday. The slate for the club's ninth MLL season includes seven home games that will be played at Sports Authority Field at Mile High and seven road games.

The Outlaws will play games on one Thursday, two Fridays and three Sundays in addition to eight Saturday contests in 2014. This year's schedule includes bye weeks for Memorial Day and the World Games.

Game times and broadcast schedules have not yet been released.

Once again, the Outlaws will host a Fourth of July Celebration game on July 4, with a fireworks show following the game against the Boston Cannons. Last season, the team broke the professional outdoor lacrosse attendance record with 31,019 fans attending the team's 16-7 win against the New York Lizards.

Denver opens its season on the road for the third consecutive season. The Outlaws will visit the MLL's newest franchise, the Florida Launch, for the club's inaugural game on Saturday, April 26 to kick off the season.

The Outlaws play their home opener against Ohio the following weekend on May 4, which is one of the club's three Sunday contests on the schedule.

Denver takes the road again in Week 3 for a game at Boston on Saturday, May 10, before hosting Rochester on Saturday, May 17 in the final game before the Memorial Day bye week.

The Outlaws play Charlotte, which was the only club to defeat Denver in 2013, in back-to-back weeks following the Memorial Day bye. Denver hosts Charlotte on Friday, May 30 and then visits the Hounds on Saturday, June 7. Those games will mark the sixth time in Outlaws history that the team has played the same opponent in back-to-back weeks. Charlotte earned a 17-14 victory against Denver in the semifinal round of the Steinfeld Cup playoffs to end the Outlaws' undefeated season in 2013.

Denver returns home for its only homestand of the season with consecutive games at Sports Authority Field against New York on Saturday, June 14 and a contest versus the defending MLL champions, Chesapeake, on Saturday, June 21.

The MLL All-Star Game will take place on Thursday, June 26 at Harvard Stadium in Boston. The MLL All-Stars will match up against Team USA as the national team prepares for the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships that begin on July 10 in Denver.

Just three days after the All-Star Game, the Outlaws will be back in action with a game at Rochester on Sunday, June 29, 2014.

Denver returns home for the club's ninth annual Independence Day celebration game on Friday, July 4. A total of 219,606 fans have watched the Outlaws' fireworks games with the team amassing a 6-2 record in those contests. Each of these games has set an attendance record, breaking the one set by the Independence Day celebration game the year before.

After the Fourth of July matchup, the Outlaws will have 16 days off as the league takes a bye week for the FIL World Championships.

Denver plays its final home game of the season on Sunday, July 20 as the Florida Launch take their first trip to the Mile High City.

The Outlaws finish the season with three consecutive games on the road. The team travels to Columbus for a matchup against the Ohio Machine on Saturday, July 26. The team then plays its only Thursday game of the season at Chesapeake on July 31 before finishing the regular season at New York on Saturday, Aug. 9.
