Newport Gulls News Release
The Newport Gulls will enter postseason play tomorrow, Sunday, August 4th, at Cardines Field in Newport. Gates open at 5 p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. vs. the NECBL Eastern Division's 4th seeded team.
That team will be determined later tonight in a 1-game playoff between the Sanford Mainers and Laconia Muskrats at Goodall Park in Sanford, Maine. Tonight's game can also be followed via Game Live at necbl.com and the NECBL Broadcast Network.
The best-of-three series begins Sunday at Cardines Field for Game One. Game Two will be on the road in either Laconia or Sanford on Monday, August 5th, and Game Three, if needed, will be played back at Cardines Field on Tuesday, August 6th.
The Newport Gulls have home field advantage locked up throughout the postseason. If the Gulls advance to the second round - the NECBL Eastern Division Championship Series - Game One would take place on Wednesday at Cardines Field in the start of another best-of-three series.
