
2012 First Round Draft Pick and Commack, NY Native Samantha Prahalis Joins Liberty

NEW YORK, NY - New York Liberty Head Coach and General Manager Bill Laimbeer announced today that the team has signed free agent guard Samantha Prahalis to a seven-day contract.
"We are constantly evaluating and searching for ways to improve our ball club," said Laimbeer.
Prahalis was selected in the first round (sixth overall) by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2012 draft. As a rookie, she averaged 11.6 points, 4.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game en route to being named to the 2012 WNBA All-Rookie Team. Prahalis appeared in eight games this season for the Mercury and was waived on July 18.
The Liberty will face the Indiana Fever in a nationally-televised matchup tomorrow, July 23 at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. The team will hold a viewing party at Resorts World Casino New York City's Bar 360 beginning at 6 p.m.
The Liberty return to Prudential Center on Aug. 3 against the Connecticut Sun at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at NYLiberty.com.
