2010 Hillcats Promotional Schedule Revealed

The Lynchburg Hillcats announced today their promotional schedule for the upcoming 2010 campaign. This year the promotional schedule features numerous giveaway items, ten fireworks nights, new daily specials and much more!

The opening homestand of the season starts our promotional schedule off with a bang! On Opening Night on Thursday, April 8th against the Frederick Keys, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Hillcats pennant presented by Express Lane and WROV. The following night on Friday, April 9th, the game will be followed by a fantastic fireworks display presented by Liberty University. The first homestand of the season will also include a Hillcats schedule magnet giveaway (1,000) presented by WYYD on Saturday, April 10th and a 2009 Championship team poster giveaway (1,000) presented by Walden Pond and The Planet on Sunday April 11th.

The fireworks show on April 9th is the first of ten fireworks nights throughout the 2010 season. Again this year, the Hillcats will have two fireworks displays over the Fourth of July Weekend. On both Saturday, July 3rd and Sunday, July 4th presented Westover Dairy and Kroger, the skies will light up over City Stadium with a spectacular fireworks show!

This season the Hillcats giveaway items include a Pedro Alvarez and Phil Vassar bobbleheads presented by Honda/Suzuki of Lynchburg! Alvarez, the second overall selection in the 2008 draft, helped lead the Hillcats to a first half Northern Division Championship last season. The former Vanderbilt standout led the Hillcats with 14 home runs last season and drove in 55 runs in just 66 games played with the Green & Gold last year before getting the call-up to Double-A Altoona. The bobblehead of the third baseman will be handed out to the first 1,000 fans in attendance for the game on May 14th, at 6:05 p.m. against the Winston-Salem Dash. Vassar, a Lynchburg native, has had a gold record, nineteen singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart (including two Number One hits) and has earned a Country Songwriter of the Year Award. The Phil Vassar bobblehead will be given away to the first 1,000 fans in attendance for the game on August 13th at 7:05 p.m. versus the Kinston Indians.

This year the Hillcats daily specials are as outstanding as ever! Monday home games will feature 50 cent hot dogs presented by ABC-13. The Hillcats are also proud to announce ABC-13 Dollar Menu Tuesdays at City Stadium this season. Every Tuesday home game hot dogs, hamburgers, peanuts, popcorn, candy bars and chips are all available for just $1 each! Wednesdays are WLNI Win-Win Wednesdays, where fans can buy a ticket to a Wednesday home game and with that ticket will receive free admission to the next Wednesday home game! Thursday Cheers presented by Miller Lite, Yuengling and The Planet 97.9 FM and 106.9 FM is back again by popular demand. Every Thursday home game will feature free pre-game live music along with $1 drinks. The Hillcats are also excited to announce that every Sunday kids 5-14 eat free at Calvin Falwell Field! Also, following every Sunday home game kids can also Run the Bases presented by Uncle Bob's Self-Storage.

This seasons promotional schedule also includes our fourth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Centra Health on May 8th at 6:05 p.m. against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the second Annual Autism Awareness Night presented by Physicians Treatment Center on May 1st at 6:05 p.m. versus the Potomac Nationals. All promotions are subject to change.
