2009 Fireworks And Giveaway Schedule Announced

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are delighted to announce that Sunday nights are once again fireworks nights at BB&T Coastal Field with five additional fireworks dates for special occasions. The Pelicans also have another great lineup of giveaways for the upcoming season to complete the 2009 promotional schedule.

In addition to the nine Sunday night games, the Pelicans will also host fireworks following the season opener against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (April 9). The largest fireworks spectacular of the season will follow the game on July 4 when the Pelicans host the Salem Red Sox. Other additional shows will be June 11, July 22 to kick off the Triple Crown tournament and September 7, Labor Day, to close out the regular season.

Giveaways that highlight the promotional schedule this season include a Bruce Dal Canton plaque that will be given out on Opening Day (April 9), a replica bat presented by Angelo's Steak and Pasta (May 3), a bobblehead of three-time award winning Pelicans' groundskeeper Chris "Butter" Ball (May 15) and this year's trend item a Pelican Webkinz (August 21). The Pelicans will also be giving away a Nintendo Wii on the final Wednesday game of the regular season. Fans will have the opportunity to participate in a Wii home run derby throughout the season with the championship round being held on the larger than life video board at BB&T Coastal Field. Contestants throughout the season can register to win the Wii that will be raffled off on August 26.

The Pelicans will be hosting Fan Fest at BB&T Coastal Field on Saturday, March 7, beginning at 10 a.m. National Anthem and public address tryouts will be held during the event and lots of other family oriented activities. Single-game tickets, season tickets, mini-plans, flex books and group outings can be purchased during Fan Fest. Tickets are still available for the season opener on Aril 9 and for the Jerome Bettis appearance on April 14.
