2009 Curve Entertainment Acts Announced

ALTOONA, Pa - Over the franchise's first decade, Altoona Curve fans have grown to love some of Minor League Baseball's most popular traveling acts at Blair County Ballpark. That tradition will continue in 2009, as along with some familiar favorites, will be some new, sought-after groups that will be sure to amuse.

"Of all the things we do to make Curve games a family-friendly atmosphere, the entertainment acts that we bring in on consistent basis are among the well-received promotions we have," said Curve General Manager Rob Egan.

On select Saturday home games at BCB, fans can expect to see these outstanding acts:

Saturday, April 18 (5:05 p.m. vs. Erie) - Inflatamaniacs Appearance: The Inflatamaniacs are one of the newest acts to hit the minor leagues. Four different caricatures will be inflated on the field and come to life making for a fantastic act for kids of all ages. The Inflatamaniacs will be the only traveling act that will visit BCB on more than one occasion in '09. They'll return to wow the crowd on Saturday, July 18 vs. Bowie. Saturday, June 6 (7:05 p.m. vs. Akron) - Rally Appearance: Rally is a nationally-renowned mascot act. He has quickly become a fan favorite to sports teams across the nation. In 2009, Rally will be in his sixth season of fan entertainment. He's a one-of-a-kind mascot act that uses of variety of hilarious antics. Rally specializes in high energy stunts, skits, and entertains in the crowd for the entire game. More information can be found at www.audienceofoneentertainment.com.

Saturday, June 20 (7:05 p.m. vs. Connecticut) - Zooperstars Appearance: A staple at Blair County Ballpark for years, the Zooperstars have become loved around the world because of the many different character parodies they perform such as: Clammy Sosa (a play off of former big leaguer Sammy Sosa), Derek Cheetah (a cheetah character that resembles Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter) and perhaps the most renowned of all is Harry Canary (a bird-like resemblance of renowned Hall of Fame broadcaster, Harry Carry).

The creators of the Zooperstars have a combined total of over 80 years of entertainment experience and have performed for over 30 million fans in the United States, Canada, Italy, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Taiwan, and Japan. Recently, the Zooperstars have been highlighted on many national media outlets including ESPN, ESPN2, CNN Headline News, Fox SportsNet, and the NBC Today Show. Saturday, June 27 (7:05 p.m. vs. Bowie) - Mad Chad Appearance: If you've never seen a man juggle chain saws -- while they're running -- you won't want to miss "Mad" Chad Taylor at BCB on this night. This Guinness World Record holder has juggled everything from working video cameras to bowling balls that he can catch with his head. He has cut it up on every imaginable variety show, from "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" to "Last Call with Carson Daly" to "The Donny and Marie Show," where he kept himself from falling off his unicycle by leaning on Marie Osmond's hair. Saturday, August 1 (7:05 p.m. vs. Trenton) - Dave the Horn Guy Appearance: A man covered in bicycle horns wowed the BCB crowd in 2008 and his popular, worldwide act is back again in 2009. Dave the Horn Guy has appeared all over the country and internationally, with credits including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Major League Baseball, the NBA, NHL and many more. Saturday, August 15 (7:05 p.m. vs. New Hampshire) - Reggy Appearance: One of the most lovable mascots in the minors, Reggy's unique act has always gone over well at BCB. One of the most interesting looking mascots around, he'll be back once again to send Curve fans into belly-busting laughter. Reggy's official website is www.raymondeg.com.

This is Phase III of the Curve's 2009 promotional schedule. The final phase will be announced tomorrow when the Curve unveil their 2009 giveaways.

Fans can reserve the best seats for their favorite game this week when individual tickets go on sale for the 2009 season on Friday, March 13 at 5:00 p.m. at the Curve's 2009 Baseball Bash. The evening's festivities will also include a fireworks show, free food and beverages, live entertainment and a 50 percent blowout sale on Curve merchandise.
