The future stars of the Ontario Hockey League will be unveiled tomorrow (Saturday, May 3rd) during the 2008 OHL Priority Selection being held via the Internet and conference call in all 20-member team locations. The first three rounds will also be webcast by visiting www.ontariohockeyleague.com.
The Erie Otters own the second overall selection in the 15-round event that gets underway at 9 a.m. In total, the Otters will make 14 selections including six picks in the first 97. In addition the to the second overall choice the Otters hold the 22nd, 69th, 78th, 82nd and 97th.

The Otters have selected a total of 194 players in 12 Priority Selections from 1996-2007
Seven of the Otters 10 first round picks (those who have reached draft eligibility age) in team history have been selected in the National Hockey League Entry Draft including three first rounders (Tim Connolly, fifth overall by the New York Islanders in 1999; Brad Boyes, 24th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2000 and Ryan O'Marra, 15th overall by the Islanders in 2005)
36.1% of the players selected by the Otters that have graduated from the junior ranks (players taken in Priority Selections from 1996-2003) have gone on to play professional hockey, including six who played in the National Hockey League in 2007-2008
The Otters Priority Selection Party takes place tomorrow (Saturday) night from 7 - 9 p.m. at the East Erie Turners (829 Parade St.).
The Otters are scheduled to introduce the second overall pick in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection at the event while all 2007-08 members of the Otters will also be in attendance. The evening will also feature a "town hall" session in which fans will have the opportunity to ask the Otters Hockey Department and select team members questions.
East Erie Turners will provide light food with a cash bar.
