2008 IHL Playoffs MVP Re-joins Komets

Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets announced Tuesday that last year's IHL Turner Cup Playoffs MVP Justin Hodgman has agreed to terms and will be skating with the Komets for the remainder of 2008-09 and plans to be in the lineup to help defend the Komets' Turner Cup Championship in the playoffs.

Hodgman, 20, became the star of the playoffs last year leading the Komets with seven goals and 14 points appearing in all 13 Fort Wayne post-season games. The rookie center made his mark on Komet history scoring the game winning goal in the third overtime of the seventh game of the finals for the Turner Cup Championship and becoming the IHL's 2009 Playoff MVP.

Hodgman completed his fourth season of eligibility in the OHL this season with Erie leading the Otters with 66 points in 66 games. The Otters were eliminated in the first round of the OHL playoffs.

Hodgman is expected to be in Fort Wayne for his first practice of the season with the Komets Wednesday morning before skating his first regular season game of 2008-09 with Fort Wayne against the visiting Muskegon Lumberjacks Wednesday night at 7:30.
