Buffalo Bandits News Release

BUFFALO, N.Y. (January 26, 2007) --The National Lacrosse League has announced the start of fan balloting for the 2007 NLL All-Star Game. All ballots for the game, which will be played in Portland on Saturday, March 10, will be cast online via the league's official website, NLL.com. Voting will end Tuesday, February 20.

This year's ballot includes 11 members of the Buffalo Bandits, led by John Tavares, the NLL's all-time leading scorer. Last year's league MVP, Steve Dietrich, also appears on the ballot, along with forwards Cory Bomberry, Jason Crosbie, Delby Powless, and Dan Teat. The ballot also includes midfielders Rich Kilgour, Pat McCready, and Mark Steenhuis, as well as defensemen Kyle Couling and Kyle Laverty.

The head coaches for the All-Star Game were determined by the finishing order of the 2006 Champion's Cup Playoffs. Buffalo Bandits Head Coach Darris Kilgour will coach the East Division squad and Rochester Knighthawks Head Coach Ed Comeau will serve as the Assistant Coach. Colorado Mammoth Head Coach Gary Gait will coach the West Division squad and Arizona Sting Head Coach Bob Hamley will be the Assistant Coach.

The online ballot will include players from all 13 NLL clubs. The fan vote will combine with the vote of league media and votes of the team General Managers/Head Coaches to determine the starting lineups. Each will account for one-third of the total vote for the starting lineups.
