Rochester host New York Saturday,

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knighthawks host the New York Titans on Saturday, January 27th at 8:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. The game will be televised live on Time Warner SportsNet and SportsNet New York. The contest will also be carried live on WYSL 1040-AM, wysl1040.com and B2 Networks.

During halftime, the Knighthawks will honor their 1997 Championship Team. Rochester defeated the Bandits 15-12 on April 12, 1997 at Marine Midland Arena in Buffalo to win the franchise's only title. Members of the Knighthawks '97 team returning for the event include Randy Mearns, Tim Soudan, Tom Emmick, Jeremy Hollenbeck, Mark Fietta, Matt Riter and Regy Thorpe. Coaches Paul Day and Tom Cincebox will also attend the festivities. Fans can meet the former players and coaches at the official autograph session in the lower atrium lobby following the game.

The Knighthawks enter Saturday's game with a 3-2 record after splitting a pair of East Division games last weekend. On Friday, the K-Hawks dropped an 11-10 decision to the Minnesota Swarm. The following night, Rochester defeated the Toronto Rock 19-15 at the Air Canada Centre. With the win, Rochester completed the season-series sweep of the Rock.

The game this Saturday is the first of four straight at home for the Knighthawks. Rochester is currently tied for first place in the East Division with the Chicago Shamrox (2-1). Rochester brings a powerful lineup into the game, as five players already have registered 20 or more points. Entering the week, Scott Evans had a league-high 15 goals in five games. John Grant was also among the NLL leaders with 16 assists. Further, Rochester boasts the most potent power play, scoring a league-best 24 goals and converting 67 percent of its chances.

New York (1-2) is one game out of first after winning its home opener 11-9 on Saturday at Madison Square Garden. The Titans host the Philadelphia Wings tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Nassau Coliseum. The next night, New York completes its two-game weekend in Rochester with its first ever game against the Knighthawks.

Next week, Rochester hosts the Chicago Shamroxs at 7:35 p.m. on Irish Night on Saturday, February 3rd. The contest will be broadcast live on B2 Networks and will be aired tape delayed on Time Warner SportsNet Channel 26.
