Dunedin Blue Jays News Release
Dunedin, FL. - The Dunedin Blue Jays are facing the St. Lucie Mets in a four game series at Knology Park. Games 2 and 3 are expected to be extra exciting for Jays fans as the Toronto Blue Jays' David Eckstein is scheduled to make a ML Rehab start in both games. On Monday, May 19th and Tuesday, May 20th Jays fans will get a chance to catch Eckstein when the action begins at 7pm.
Eckstein, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 8th with a strained right hip flexor, is expected to return to the Major League roster on Thursday, when the Jays host the Angels. Prior to landing on the DL, Eckstein was batting .246 with 12 RBIs.
Entering his 11th year, the Toronto Blue Jays acquired the 2006 WS MVP on a one year deal worth $4.5 million. In 2007, he batted .309 for the Cardinals, contributing 3 home runs, 31 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. He was also a member of the 2002 World Champion Anaheim Angels team.
