
2006 E.L. All-Star Game tickets on sale Thursday

ALTOONA- The Altoona Curve, the Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, have announced that individual game tickets for the 2006 E.L. All-Star Game will go on sale to the public this Thursday, December 1st, beginning at 9 AM.
The annual all-star classic, which will feature future major league stars from each of the Eastern League's 12 teams, will take place on Wednesday, July 12th at Blair County Ballpark in Altoona. Game time is set for 7:45 PM with ballpark gates to open at 5:30 for the start of batting practice and other pre-game events, which will be announced at a later date.
Fans can purchase tickets to the 2006 E.L. All-Star Game in the following ways beginning December 1st:
- In person by visiting the Blair County Ballpark Ticket Office, located just off Park Avenue, weekdays
from 9 AM to 5 PM
- Over the phone by calling (814) 943-5400 or toll-free at 1-877-99-CURVE during regular Ticket Office hours
- On-line by visiting www.altoonacurve.com and clicking either the "BUY TICKETS HERE" icon or the 2006 All-Star Game logo on the front page of the site
- When shopping at the Curve Stockyard location on the second level of the Logan Valley Mall in Altoona (Note: only a limited selection of seating locations will be available at the mall store)

"The entire Curve family is currently working very hard to make sure that the 2006 Eastern League All-Star Game is as fan-friendly and interactive as possible and to ensure that we properly showcase the great history of Altoona and the entire region to the many out-of-town visitors which the game will attract," said Curve General Manager Todd Parnell. "We're excited to give fans this early opportunity to secure their All-Star Game tickets and we wanted to make them available in early December to provide the perfect Holiday gift idea for any Curve fan."
In addition to the all-star game itself, several ballpark and community events will be held on both Tuesday, July 11th and Wednesday, July 12th. Among the events tentatively scheduled include the 2006 Eastern League All-Star FanFest, which will feature fan autograph sessions and meet-and-greets with all-star players, and other fun, fan-oriented events at different venues throughout the area. Also being planned is a special All-Star Gala, which will provide fans a unique entertainment program while also showcasing the great history of Altoona and Central PA to fans and representatives from other Eastern League clubs traveling to the area for the game. The Curve will soon be announcing specific details regarding the All-Star FanFest, All-Star Gala and other community events.
In a unique twist, the 2006 Major League All-Star Game will be hosted by the Curve's parent club, the Pittsburgh Pirates, at PNC Park in Pittsburgh the day before the Eastern League All-Star Game will be played at Blair County Ballpark.

Additional information on all Curve ticket packages is available on-line at www.altoonacurve.com. The Curve will open the 2006 season with a seven-game homestand at Blair County Ballpark, beginning Thursday, April 6th against the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees).
