Port Huron Flags News Release
PORT HURON, MI- The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) begin their season as they make their first road trip of the year as they travel to face the Richmond RiverDogs.
The final cuts were made Tuesday, with Goaltender, Scott Gouthro and Forward, Drew O'Connell being placed on waivers. Both impressed in training camp but unfortunately there was not enough room available on the roster to keep these two rookies.
So the Beacons current roster sits at 22. Of those 22, five are returning from last season's playoff team. Center, Aaron Brand, Defenseman, Ian Jacobs, Right Wing, Joe Sewell, Left Wing, Josh Tataryn and Goaltender, Stu Dunn.
The Beacons open up the season in Richmond on Friday October 15th with face-off set for 7:35 p.m. The Beacons again face the RiverDogs on Saturday with face-off set for 7:35 p.m.
On October 22nd the Beacons open their Home schedule against the Fort Wayne Komets with face-off set for 7:05 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive a complementary magnetic schedule to follow the Beacons both home and away.
