2003 Grey Cup Champions Collect Their Hardware

Edmonton, AL- For players it is a source of endless pride; a symbol of the passion and dedication needed to win a championship. Members of the Edmonton Eskimos 2003 Grey Cup winning team received their Grey Cup rings during a private reception Sunday night.

Designed by Jostens, the ring tells the story of the Eskimos remarkable season.

The Esks logo sparkles on the crown of the ring which also with 32 diamonds, symbolic of Edmonton's record of 32 consecutive playoff appearances. Another 42 diamonds set in a yellow-gold oval represent Commonwealth Stadium. An additional 12 diamonds were added to create end zones. Together these diamonds highlight the teams' 54 players.

There are 3 diamonds in each corner of the ring's bezel to celebrate the teams' 12th Grey Cup victory. An interesting note – players who were in Toronto for the blackout also have a black diamond set into the Grey Cup on the side of the ring. Inscribed inside the band in the Eskimos mantra "you can count on me."

The Eskimos Grey Cup ring is valued at $10,000 each and weighs on average 58 grams. The largest ring belongs to Offensive lineman Dan Comiskey at size 21; 63.5 grams

Jostens territory manager Barry Properzi says "they are the most elaborate and unique rings that I have helped create in more than 26 years. They will be recognized as one of the best rings in professional sports".
