The Calgary Vipers gave up 20 hits en route to a 14-11 defeat at the hands of the Edmonton Capitals before 3198 fans at Foothills Stadium in Calgary, Alberta. The Vipers fell behind early giving up five runs in the first inning and trailed 7-0 heading into the bottom of the third before rallying and scoring six times in the fifth inning to take a lead of their own. However the Snakes gave up six runs over the next three frames to drop the contest. With the loss the Vipers fall to 21-11 in the second half and 47-24 overall but still own the Golden Baseball League's best record.

At the plate Sergio Pedroza had an exceptional game for Calgary going four-for-four, with a walk, and hit by pitch to reach base all six times at the plate. Drew Miller also collected four hits on the night with his four-for-five.

Andrew DeMott (3-2) took the loss for the Vipers giving up one earned run in an inning and two-thirds. Todd Privett (4-2) received the win in giving up two runs in two innings while Jason Pearson (13) recorded the save with a scoreless ninth frame.

The Capitals added a run to their lead an inning later as Jorge Cortes reached on a fielding error, House reached on a fielder's choice, Darryl Brinkley singled, and Gomes cashed a run with a sacrifice fly for a 6-0 advantage.

In the third inning the scoring continued for Edmonton as Jiannetti doubled and Matt Ceriani singled him home for a 7-0 lead.

Calgary got a couple of runs back in the bottom of the frame as with two outs Nelson Castro walked while Pedroza and Kit Pellow hit back-to-back RBI doubles for a 7-2 score.

Edmonton scored for their fourth straight inning in the top of the fourth as Gomes and Ehrnsberger singled, and Jiannetti doubled one in for a 8-2 advantage.

The Vipers tallied a run in the bottom of the frame for a 8-2 game as Raul Gonzalez and Miller singled with Gonzalez scoring when a double-play was hit into.

In the bottom of the fifth the Snakes offense exploded for six runs to take a 9-8 lead. Castro started the rally with his league high ninth triple, Sergio Pedroza was hit by a pitch, Pellow plated a run with a groundout, Colin Moro walked, Gonzalez reached on a costly error which scored Pedroza, Miller and Kevin Price singled in runs, Jorge Mejia reached with a base hit, and Fehlandt Lentini put his team in front with a two-run double.

Right back responded the Capitals with a run in the next half inning to tie the game at 9-9 as Ehrnsberger doubled and scored when Jiannetti knocked him home with a base hit.

The Capitals took back the lead in the seventh as Cortes reached on a fielding error, moved to third base on a steal plus a throwing error, House walked, Brinkley hit a sacrifice fly, and Morban banged a two-run long ball for a 12-9 advantage.

Castro responded with his own two-run big fly in the bottom of the frame, his 11th of the year, with Lentini on after a walk to bring Calgary within one run at 12-11.

Again Edmonton answered in the next half inning though as Jiannetti doubled, Hornostaj singled, Ceriani plated a run with a base hit, and Cortes hit a sacrifice fly for a 14-11 lead.
