HOOVER, Ala.- The Biscuits (20-21) scored three two-out runs in the 10th inning to win 8-5 after the Birmingham Barons (21-20) came back from a 4-1 deficit Wednesday night at Regions Park.

After tripling to start the tenth, Kyeong Kang was thrown out at the plate trying to score on a Tyler Bortnick groundball for the second out of the inning, seemingly ending the Biscuits' hopes of taking a lead. But Bortnick moved up to second base after an attempted pick-off sailed into foul territory, and Brad Coon singled him in to put Montgomery ahead. Mark Thomas and Ty Morrison would each add RBI-singles to give Montgomery an 8-5 advantage.

The Biscuits took a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the 5th inning, but two runs from the Barons in the fifth would bring Birmingham within one run. Jared Mitchell tied the game with an RBI-single in the seventh against Neil Schenk.

Kang paced the Biscuits offense with a 3-4 night. The South Korean had RBI-doubles in the fourth and fifth innings, then added a triple in the tenth. Bortnick, Coon and Thomas, the bottom three in the order, combined for seven hits, five RBI and four runs scored.

Marquis Fleming (3-0) tossed a scoreless eighth and ninth while only allowing one hit and striking out two to grab his third win of the season. Frank De Los Santos (1) pitched a perfect 10th inning to earn his first save of the season. Joe Cruz started the game and went five innings and allowed four runs with a season-high seven strikeouts in the no-decision.

Leroy Hunt (0-1) gave up the three runs in the tenth on four hits to suffer his first loss of the season.

The Biscuits and Barons will play Thursday night at 7:05. RHP Matt Buschmann will start for Montgomery while Birmingham will send out RHP Cameron Bayne.
