18 Former Stampede Players Skating in NCAA Tournament

Sioux Falls, SD--The Sioux Falls Stampede will once again be well represented during the 2013 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. The Herd has at least one player on 12 of the 16 teams in the tournament and a total of 18 players participating. In addition, former head coach Bob Motzko (1999-2001) is also in the tournament as the head coach at St. Cloud State.

Quinnipiac, Minnesota, UMass-Lowell and Notre Dame are the #1 seeds. The tournament begins on Friday at four different regional sites: Manchester, NH, Providence, RI, Grand Rapids, MI, and Toledo, OH.

Below is a list of schools in the tournament and the former Stampede players on their roster. The years they played in Sioux Falls is in parentheses.

Canisius: Chris Rumble (2008-09)

Denver: Daniel Doremus (2010-11), Juho Olkinuora (2010-11), Matt Tabrum (2009-11)

Massachusetts-Lowell: Dan Furlong (2008-10), Josh Holmstrom (2008-10), Zack Kamrass (2009-11), Chad Ruhwedel (2008-10).

Miami: Jay Williams (2012-13)

Minnesota: Christian Isackson (2010-11), Kyle Rau (2010-11)

Minnesota State-Mankato: Stephon Williams (2010-12)
