
16 Jackals Attend AHL Camps

Elmira, NY- The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, are pleased to announce that Tyler Donati and Travis Gawryletz have agreed to terms. With the additions the number of Jackals that attended American Hockey League training camps moves to 16.
Forward Tyler Donati played in five games for the Jackals last season in which he had three assists. The native of Oakville, Ontario spent the remainder of the season with the Binghamton Senators. In 53 games in the AHL, Donati had six goals and 12 assists for 18 points. His final season of junior hockey was his most honorable. In 66 games for the Belleville Bulls (Ontario Hockey League), Donati racked up 54 goals and 75 assists for 129 points. The 5'10'' 185 pound forward will attend the Rochester Americans (AHL) training camp.
"Tyler has a ton of talent and skill, anytime you can add a 50 goal scorer it boosts your offense." Said Jackals Head Coach Steve Martinson.
Also attending the Americans training camp will be 6'2'' 205 pound defenseman Travis Gawryletz. Drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the eighth round, 253rd overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Gawryletz has spent the last four season in the NCAA with the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. In 140 Collegiate contests, the native of Trail, British Columbia collected 23 points (5 G 18 A) and 125 minutes in penalties.
"Gawryletz is an excellent skater, he's a gritty defensive defenseman." Martinson said.
The Jackals are pleased to have 16 players attend AHL training camps. Along with Gawryletz and Donati, Benoit Doucet is attending the Rochester training camp. Josh Aspenlind and Rob McVicar are at the Lake Erie Monsters training camp while Steve Yetman is in Hamilton with the Bulldogs. Brandon Roach is at the Manitoba Moose camp while Pierre-Luc Faubert, Kaleb Betts, Brett Pilkington, Moises Gutierrez, Tyler Hirsch, Guillaume Lepine, Mike Gauthier, Chris St. Croix and Kevin Desfosses have all traveled down highway 17 to attend the Binghamton Senators training camp.
"We had an excellent representation in the American Hockey League for training camps. Having all those players starting their season early with the AHL should help us get off to a good start." Martinson stated.
The Jackals open the pre-season on Thursday, October 9th with a match up against the Reading Royals. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. at First Arena. The following two nights, Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th, the Jackals host the Trenton Devils at 7:35p.m. at First Arena. Tickets are now on sale at the First Arena Box Office.
The Jackals open the regular season on Friday, October 17th against the Reading Royals at 7:35 p.m. Join the fun outside of First Arena for the Jackals block party at 5:00 p.m. and get ready for an excellent season!
