DENVER, Dec. 1 - Von Wafer and Bakari Hendrix scored 20 points each as the Colorado 14ers knocked off the Los Angeles D-Fenders 112-100 in the 14ers NBA Development League home opener at the Broomfield Event Center Friday night.

The victory improved Colorado to 3-0 as 2,989 watched the first ever D-League game in Broomfield. Los Angeles dropped to 3-1 on the season with the loss.

After falling down 20 points in the 2nd quarter the D-Fenders cut the lead to five, but couldn't pull any closer in the 3rd quarter. Von Wafer hit four 3-pointers in the quarter to give Colorado an 18 point advantage heading to the fourth. Bakari Hendrix added three 3-pointers of his own in 30 minutes off the bench.

"Bakari is such a veteran, such a leader," said 14ers head coach Joe Wolf. "Tonight he was hitting his shot, and he knew that he could keep doing that and he should keep doing that."

Chet Mason led the comeback attempt for Los Angeles, scoring a game high 24 points off the bench. Jackie Manuel added 15 in losing effort.

The D-Fenders continue their road-trip tomorrow night in Fort Worth. The 14ers next game is Sunday night, Dec. 3 against the Idaho Stampede at the Broomfield Event Center.
