Oshawa Generals News Release
Oshawa - The Oshawa Generals are preparing for a big night on Friday, December 4th, 2008 as they hold their 12th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by Rona against the Belleville Bulls at 7:35 PM. Last season the Generals managed to collect a record 3,976 stuffed animals at the 11th annual event when Generals forward Brett Parnham scored at the 11:21 mark of the 1st period. This year the Generals are looking to push the total number of teddy bears and stuffed animals collected over 4,000 and the 12 year total over 29,000. The stuffed animals will be donated to the Simcoe Hall Settlement House, the Durham Children's Aid Society, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society who will distribute to those in need this holiday season.
Here's how the promotion works:
Fans attending the game are asked to bring a new or nearly new teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game on December 4th. Immediately following the Generals first goal, fans will throw their bears or stuffed animals onto the ice surface.
This promotion will be complete when we hand teddy bears and stuffed animals to the people who need them the most. local charities. The Oshawa Generals are here to help those who are less fortunate and it is a way to give back to the community. This promotion is not possible without the fans, and the local media. We need your support to make this event successful.
