103.9's Ed Combs To Be Guest Coach This Saturday

March 4, 2010 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2) - Flint Generals News Release

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals announced Wednesday night during their game against the Port Huron IceHawks that Ed Combs, the radio personality from 103.9 the FOX, will be a guest coach during this Saturday's game against the Fort Wayne Komets.

Combs, an avid hockey fan, has been involved in the sport for much of his life- 33 years as a player, 13 years as an official and coach for USA Hockey, two years as head of officials for the Huron County Hockey Association, and also as a supportive father. He has always wanted to skate with a professional team and looks forward to the opportunity to fulfill that dream this Saturday.

Earlier in the season the Generals teamed up with the classic rock radio station personality to do a weekly segment with Jake Pence and it was not long before he was hooked on the Generals.

Combs will hit the ice with the team for the morning skate and will be on the bench for the game as a guest assistant coach.

"We are looking forward to having Ed with us for the day. He's really excited about it and it will be a great opportunity for someone who loves the sport to gain new insight and a better understanding of what a day in the life of a professional coach is actually like" says Generals GM Peter South.

Tickets for Saturday's game against Fort Wayne are available at the Perani Arena Ticket Office, by phone at 810-744-0580, or through Ticketmaster. For group ticket information, call the Generals Office at 810-744-0222.
