
10 Players Assigned to Rampage by St. Louis

SAN ANTONIO - St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced on Saturday that the Blues have assigned ten players to the San Antonio Rampage. Five forwards, three defensemen, and two goaltenders will join the Rampage training camp roster.
Forwards assigned include Conner Bleackley, Brian Flynn, Tanner Kaspick, Austin Poganski, and Trevor Smith. Defensemen Joey Laleggia, Sam Lofquist, and Tyler Wotherspoon also join the Rampage, as well as goaltenders Jordan Binnington and Evan Fitzpatrick.
Bleackley, 22, appeared in 14 games with the Rampage last season and notched a goal and seven penalty minutes. Flynn, 30, is a veteran of 275 NHL games preparing for his seventh professional season after recording 18 goals and 47 points in 66 games with the Texas Stars in 2017-18. Smith, 33, served as captain of the Milwaukee Admirals the past two seasons and has appeared in 107 NHL games, in addition to 593 games in the American Hockey League. Smith had 17 goals and 43 points in 66 games with Milwaukee last season.
Poganski, 22, and Kaspick, 20, are Blues draft picks readying for their first full professional seasons. Poganski appeared in four games with the Rampage last season following a four-year career at the University of North Dakota. A fourth-round draft pick for the Blues in 2014, Poganski tallied a goal and an assist during his brief stint in San Antonio. Kaspick, a 2016 fourth-round pick for the Blues, totaled 25 goals and 64 points in 60 games split between the Brandon Wheat Kings and Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League. Kaspick also appeared in one AHL playoff game for the Manitoba Moose, registering an assist.
Laleggia, 26, played the past three seasons in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors, recording 15 goals and 43 points in 68 games last season. Lofquist, 28, totaled 13 points in 24 games for EHC Biel-Bienne in Switzerland. Wotherspoon, 25, had seven goals and 37 points in 67 games with the Stockton Heat in 2017-18. He has 30 games of NHL experience.
Binnington, 25, enters his sixth pro season and appeared in 28 games for the Providence Bruins in 2017-18, posting a 17-9-1 record. His 2.05 goals-against average ranked second in the AHL, and his .926 save percentage ranked fourth. Fitzpatrick, 20, begins his first professional season after winning a QMJHL championship and a Memorial Cup last season in junior hockey with Acadie-Bathurst. A second-round draft pick of the Blues in 2016, Fitzpatrick went 26-12-5 with a 2.90 goals-against average.
The ten players assigned will join forward Jared Thomas, who was assigned to the Rampage by St. Louis on Sept. 12.
The Rampage open training camp on Monday, Sept. 24 at Northwoods Ice Center, with practice beginning at 9:45 a.m. All practice sessions at Northwoods Ice Center will be open to the public.
