Wingnuts Release 2016 Schedule; Will Open at Home

November 24, 2015 - WICHITA, KS - The Wichita Wingnuts have won a division title in each of the last five seasons. The path to a sixth consecutive title, and third straight in the South, has been laid. The American Association and the Wichita Wingnuts released the team's 2016 schedule on Friday. The Wingnuts ninth season will get underway at home on Thursday, May 19th as the Lincoln Saltdogs travel to Lawrence-Dumont Stadium for the first of a four-game series. 'Dogs Add Arms, Including Former MLBer Reed

November 24, 2015 - LINCOLN - The Saltdogs added two big arms to their 2016 pitching staff, acquiring former big league RHP Evan Reed and RHP Randy Hamrick. The hard-throwing Reed pitched for the Detroit Tigers in 2013-14, striking out 43 in 55 2/3 innings with a 4.20 ERA. A former third round pick, Reed posted a 2.79 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 9 2/3 frames for Amarillo last season. November 24, 2015 - KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones announced they've re-signed their 2015 MVP, utility player Nate Tenbrink, to a contract for the 2016 season. Tenbrink, an Olathe, Kan., native, played in 96 of Kansas City's 99 games last season. He batted a team-best .335 and was first in runs (67), hits (121), doubles (23), triples (5), walks (54) and on-base percentage (.418).
