Les Schwab Tires Coverage of Chiefs Hockey

Les Schwab Tires will provide live coverage of Spokane Chiefs Hockey this Friday night on Comcast channel 12 when the Portland Winter Hawks visit the Spokane Arena for the fifth and final time. Spokane skated away with an 8-1 win over Portland in their last trip to the Arena on December 11th.

The game will be broadcast live at 7:00 on Friday night on Comcast channel 12 and will replay Saturday morning at 11:00 on channel 14. The Portland game, along with the three previous game broadcasts, will also be available on Comcast's Video ON DEMAND. Les Schwab Tires will provide six total broadcasts throughout the season, including the Friday, February 24th and Saturday, March 11th games versus the Tri-City Americans.

Jay Stewart will call the play-by-play while former Chiefs assistant and NHL scout Parry Shockey will provide color commentary. Shockey was on the Chiefs coaching staff from 1994-96 before becoming the head coach of the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Regina Pats and Moose Jaw Warriors. Shockey has also been a scout for the LA Kings.

Comcast Digital Cable customers can also access the first three episodes of Chiefs Insider, a behind the scenes look at the Spokane Chiefs. The next edition of Chiefs Insider is scheduled to debut ON DEMAND on Friday, February 10th with features on Chiefs 18-year-old Adam Hobson and the billet families that host players throughout the season.

ON DEMAND offers Comcast Digital Cable customers more control than ever before, with the ability to choose from movies, music, sports, news, instructional and entertainment programming and more, all with the functionality of a VCR.

Comcast launched ON DEMAND to its Spokane customers in 2005 and offers nearly 4,000 hours of programming ON DEMAND and expects to add thousands more hours of programming in the coming years. The service has become extremely popular, with Spokane customers viewing ON DEMAND programs more than 100,000 times a week, according to figures compiled by Comcast. Video on demand services are not available on satellite.
