Force To Sock Western Division Opponent

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force will play host to the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Western Division San Diego Sockers on Sunday, December 7 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University. The game will mark the second meeting of the season between the teams. The Force won the first game by a final score of 3-2 in overtime on Friday, October 24 in San Diego.

Cleveland comes into the match up with a record of 3-5 overall and 2-1 versus Western Division opponents. The Force was defeated by the Baltimore Blast 10-7 last Friday at the Convo. The Force currently is in second place in the Eastern Division three games behind Baltimore and the Philadelphia KiXX for first place.

The Sockers enter the game with a record of 3-5 overall, 1-3 versus Eastern Division opponents and 0-2 on the road. San Diego defeated the KiXX last Sunday by a final score 3-2 at the San Diego Sports Arena. The Sockers are currently tied for second in the Western Division with the Monterrey Fury trailing the Dallas Sidekicks by one game.

Defender Hector Marinaro, goalkeeper Jim Larkin, midfielder Adam Campellone and forwards Lee Edgerton, Ato Leone and Adauto Neto all scored one point in the first meeting. Leone, Marinaro and Neto all tallied a goal with Neto's goal being the game winner in overtime. Campellone, Edgerton and Larkin all assisted on goals in the game.

San Diego was led by Mauricio Alegre, Sean Bowers and Mark Ughy who all recorded a point in the game. Alegre and Bowers were credited with the goals while Ughy assisted on one of the goals.
