Westchester Knicks to Sign Honorary Player to One-Day Contract

WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, are teaming up with the Garden of Dreams Foundation to brighten the lives of 28 children from the Lower Hudson Valley for the team's game on Thursday, Jan. 12.

Garden of Dreams is a non-profit organization that works with The Madison Square Garden Company and MSG Networks to positively impact the lives of children facing obstacles.

Throughout the game, children from the Foundation's partner organizations in Westchester, including Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley, Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, and the Children's Village, will have the opportunity to take part in special experiences throughout the game including:

- Pregame Scrimmage: 10 children from the Children's Village - Game Ball Delivery: Haiden Wolf, age 11, from Pleasantville - National Anthem Performance: Eddie Kam, age 14, from Larchmont - Fan Tunnel: Five children from Mike-A-Wish Hudson Valley, and five children from the Children's Village - Honorary Westchester Knicks Dancer: Julianna Vano, age 11, from Yorktown Heights - Honorary Member of the Dub Squad Interactive Team: Brielle, age 17, from Yorktown Heights - Honorary P.A. Announcer: Jeremy Dickinson, age 14, from Hyde Park - Honorary General Manager: Tyler Mejorado, age 16, from Fishkill - Halftime Performance: Matthew Welling, age 11, from Port Chester

The night be highlighted by the signing of Nicholas Alholm, a sixth grader from the Children's Village, to a one-day contract with the Westchester Knicks. Nicholas loves playing basketball and is known to exhibit leadership behavior in his community. He will wear number 8 for Westchester.
