
Westchester Knicks Snap Streak with Win over Red Claws

WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks (11-10), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, snapped its three-game losing streak with a 105-78 win over the Atlantic Division- leading Maine Red Claws (15-8), the Boston Celtics' affiliate.
Seven Knicks found double-digits in the win led by New York Knicks assignee Maurice Ndour, who finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Courtney Fells supplied 15 points, hitting 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, while fellow starter Damien Inglis contributed 11 points and eight rebounds. From the bench, Kevin Capers added 14 points; Doron Lamb had 13 points along with seven rebounds. Jaylen Bond provided 13 points and seven rebounds, and Mike Davis added 11 points and five rebounds. Also on assignment from New York, Marshall Plumlee grabbed 13 rebounds to go with seven points.
Red Claws forward Jalen Jones led all scorers with 26 points, going 8-for-14 while grabbing five boards. Coron Williams put in 12 points and four rebounds, while Jason Calliste provided 11 points, four assists, and three rebounds from the bench.
Westchester battled for every basket in the early onset of the game. After a layup from guard Jordon Crawford, Westchester's offense controlled the first quarter. Crawford's spark led to a 16-point lead in which the Knicks made 13 of its 19 shots from the floor. The defense followed suit as Westchester forced four turnovers and scored six points off those turnovers. After a promising start, Westchester led 35-19 at the end of the first quarter.
Westchester's momentum helped stabilize its commanding lead throughout the entire second quarter. The Knicks extended its lead as high as 26 and defense was a focal point once again as they forced five Red Claws turnovers. The Knicks were able to take an imposing 23-point lead into halftime, leading 59-36.
After halftime, there was no sign of Westchester slowing down. The Knicks extended its lead as high as 33 points against the Red Claws. Kevin Capers and Jaylen Bond each contributed seven points off the bench. Westchester led 87-56 as the third quarter came to an end.
The Knicks delivered a knockout in the game's final quarter. Westchester's lead was never in question as they were able to ride out a commanding 27-point lead over the Red Claws. When the clock hit zero, the Westchester Knicks had secured a most impressive 105-78 victory.
The Westchester Knicks are back home at the historic Westchester County Center on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 7:00 p.m. to take on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Indiana Pacers' affiliate, for 'Garden of Dreams Night.' Throughout the game, children from the Foundation's partner organizations in Westchester, including Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley, Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, and the Children's Village, will have the opportunity to take part in special experiences throughout the game including Honorary General Manager, Honorary Westchester Knicks Dancer, and more. The night will be highlighted by the signing of Nicholas Alholm, a sixth grader from the Children's Village, to a one-day contract with the Westchester Knicks. It's also College Night! Students with valid College ID can purchase up to two $10 tickets at the Westchester County Center Box Office for all Thursday home games.
