Warriors Acquire Amere May Jr. in Trade with Canton

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors have acquired the Canton Charge's third round selection (pick 18) of the 2016 NBA D-League Draft, Amere May Jr., in exchange for the returning player rights to Daniel Coursey. The trade is subject to the successful completion of physicals.

Amere May Jr. (6'3, 185) went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft and last played with the Belfius Mons-Hainut basketball team out of Belgium. In his senior season at Delaware State, he averaged 21 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 34 minutes.

Daniel Coursey (6'10, 220) was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors through a trade with the Erie BayHawks during the 2015-16 season. He appeared in 24 games for Santa Cruz averaging 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in 16.4 minutes per contest.

The 2016-17 season opens at Kaiser Permanente Arena on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. against the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
