Skyforce Releases Title Sponsor Opportunity
December 15, 2016 - NBA G League (G League)
Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
SIOUX FALLS, SD -- The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that Naming Rights for the team's Jerseys are available through Great Plains Sponsorships, Inc.
The Skyforce is a member of the NBA Development League as the exclusive affiliate of the Miami HEAT and 2016 D-League Champions. Formed in 1989, the team currently calls Heritage Court at the Sanford Pentagon home, and holds claim to the winningest regular season record in D-League history, after finishing 40-10 in 2016. While the Miami HEAT controls basketball operations such as hiring coaches and player transactions, Sioux Falls controls business operations such as sales, marketing, entertainment, and community initiatives. There have been 77 All-Time NBA Call-Ups from the Skyforce.
"The opportunity to partner with Great Plains Sponsorships is very exciting for us," said Mike Heineman, President of the Sioux Falls Skyforce. "Together we will be looking for the right company or organization that can enhance the Skyforce brand. With all of the new exposure our league is receiving on ESPN, Facebook Live and NBATV, we think now is the time someone could see real benefits from branding on our uniforms."
With millions of impressions at stake, jersey ads are a rapidly growing market and will provide massive brand exposure on a local, regional, national, and even international stage. As technology continues to change how we listen to the radio and watch TV, such Naming Rights opportunities have served as a proven alternative to traditional marketing. These partnerships deliver brand association that cut through media clutter and are "DVR-free". This iconic partnership will include, but not be limited to, benefits such as:
§ Exclusive entitlements to team's home and away jerseys
§ On-site/In-game Marketing and Promotional opportunities
§ Unparalleled hospitality and "priceless" experiences with Skyforce & Miami HEAT
§ Category exclusivity, intellectual property and official partner rights
§ Digital & Permanent arena signage
§ NBA-backed community relations
§ Extensive social media platforms, as well as print, radio, and television exposure
The NBA recently announced it will debut jersey sponsors in the 2017-18 season, a move that could generate at least $100 million annually.
"Teaming up with the defending D-League Champs and HEAT affiliate is something we're ecstatic about." said Ryan Querry, President of Great Plains Sponsorships. "With consumer behavior trending in opposition to traditional marketing channels, opportunities like this provide such a unique way for brands to hone in on uncluttered, unrestricted, and accessible ways to power whatever it is they're promoting. It's a solution for companies looking to develop more profound rapport with their audience and future generations of consumers searching for something different from brands."
