Santa Cruz Warriors Announce Training Camp Roster

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors, the official D-League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, announced the team's 17-man training camp roster today. The players, who have varying college and professional basketball experience, were acquired through the returning player pool, the affiliate player rule, trades, the 2012 NBA D-League Draft and open tryouts.

Taylor Griffin, Stefhon Hannah and Justin Johnson played with the Dakota Wizards last year and are returning for the inaugural season of Santa Cruz basketball. Carlon Brown, Lance Goulbourne and Rick Jackson are on the roster via the "affiliate rule," which states that up to three players who were released from Golden State Warriors training camp can be allocated directly to the D-League team.

Chris Daniels, Dominique Johnson, Cameron Jones and Harouna Mutombo were acquired through trades. Japeth Aguilar, Travis Leslie, Arron Mollet, Darren Moore, T.J. Robinson and Steve Tchiengang were selected by the Santa Cruz Warriors in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft. Daniel Nwaelele was invited to training camp directly from the Oakland open tryout. Mollet and Aguilar also participated in open tryouts.

"We have a solid combination of seasoned D-League players, draft picks and guys with NBA experience," said Santa Cruz Warriors Head Coach Nate Bjorkgren. "We are excited about getting this group of players on the hardwood and ready to tip-off the first season of Santa Cruz basketball."
