Bighorns Partner with U.S. Bank for Student of the Month Program

RENO, NEV., November 9, 2012 - The Reno Bighorns have partnered with U.S. Bank to create "Bighorns Student of the Month presented by U.S. Bank." The program will allow local teachers, administrators, and administrative staff to nominate outstanding students to be the Bighorns Student of the Month. Nominations will be accepted on the Bighorns' website, www.renobighorns.com. One student will be recognized each month throughout the Bighorns season.

"The Bighorns are one of Reno's most community-minded organizations and we were honored to be named their 'Community Partner of the Year' last season," noted U.S. Bank Reno market president, Jack Prescott. "Adding the U.S. Bank Student of the Month to the U.S. Bank Community Corner program is the perfect way to further enhance our partnership to benefit the Reno community."

Each month, the student that is recognized as the "Bighorns Student of the Month presented by U.S. Bank" will be surprised at their school by the Bighorns mascot, Bruno, players and the Lady Bighorns dance team. The student's class will be treated to a pizza party and the student will receive four tickets to a future Bighorns game, where they will be recognized on court. U.S. Bank will also be providing each Student of the Month with a $50 Visa gift card.

"This program, made possible by partnering with U.S. Bank, will provide our student leaders with recognition of the positive impact they have on their fellow students, teachers and the community" said Reno Bighorns owner, Herb Santos, Jr.

The Bighorns open their fifth season in Reno on Friday, November 30th at 7 p.m. against the Santa Cruz Warriors. Opening Weekend continues on Sunday, December 2nd at 3 p.m. Season tickets and group tickets are on sale today. For more information, fans can call 775-853-8220.
