Outside Shooting Leads Legends Past Energy

FRISCO, TX- The Texas Legends (11-9) recorded a season-high 18 three-pointers to overwhelm the Iowa Energy (2-20) Wednesday night in Frisco 130-123.
Texas took control in the first quarter shooting 63% overall and 67% from outside and building a 10-point lead heading into the second. Memphis Grizzlies assignee Troy Williams came alive in the second to lift the Energy into the driver's seat, giving Iowa their largest lead of the night (+8). Jackson responded with five straight points for the Legends and the two teams entered the locker rooms neck-and-neck with the visitors up by 1.
Jackson and Manny Harris, currently 1st and 2nd in the league's scoring rankings, teamed up for 23 points in the third as the two teams scrapped for the leg up and finished at 93-all. Texas took off to their largest lead of the night in the fourth, up 14 with eight minutes to play. Iowa pulled within two at the four-minute mark, but Harris answered with eight of his 12 fourth-quarter points to maintain the Legends' advantage.
Jackson led all scorers with 32 points (18 from outside), set a season-high for the team with 13 assists, and added 6 boards while Harris led the team in rebounds (8) and tallied 27 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Mavericks assignee Nicolas Brussino went 6-of-8 from the three to finish with 25 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Brussino's teammate AJ Hammons came off the bench for a game-high 5 blocks while also adding 13 points, 8 rebounds.
Williams led the Energy with 26 points, 3 rebounds. Quinton Chievous had a game-high 9 boards to go along with 13 points, and Wade Baldwin IV, Williams' Grizzlies teammate, led the visitors with 7 assists to top off his 14 points, 5 rebounds.
