Legends Go Cold in Second Half

CEDAR PARK, TX- The Texas Legends (14-17) fell behind in the final minutes to drop a road game to the Austin Spurs (15-17) 109-115.

Texas got off to a hot start in the first behind 14 points from Andre Dawkins. Hot shooting all around helped the Legends build a 28-point lead in the second, their largest of the night. Dawkins finished the half 5-of-8 from outside leading the team to a 57% overall rating to give the visitors a 67-48 lead going into the locker room.

The momentum swung in the second half as the Spurs went on a 23-6 run to pull within one midway through the third. The home team tied it up but was unable to grab the lead as the Legends maintained a close control at the buzzer. Austin took their first lead since the early minutes with 9 to play. The opponents changed leads five times and tied it up four before a nine-point run would give Austin the advantage Texas was unable to overcome.

Dawkins led the Legends with 26 points while Jameel Warney added his fifth double-double of 12 points, 13 rebounds. Manny Harris, who leads the league in scoring, finished with 21 points and Bryson Fonville came off the bench for a season-high 19 points, 3 steals.

Patricio Garino tied the game-high to lead the Spurs with 26 points and added 2 blocks. Cory Jefferson had a game-high 14 boards to go along with 18 points and Hollis Thompson added another double-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds.
