FRISCO, TX, (Feb. 22, 2017) - The Legends came out of All-Star break with a vengeance, taking down the Western Conference-leading Los Angeles D-Fenders 135-120 Wednesday night in Frisco.
The two teams exchanged leads 10 times in the first half with the Legends getting the upper hand 72-69 at the break. CJ Williams came out of the locker room on fire, hitting 7-of-7 (four from outside) to tally 20 points en route to a 35-20 Legends-centric third quarter. The home team held their double-digit lead through the final buzzer.
Texas shot 52.7% on the night, completing 40% from outside. The D-Fenders finished at 41.9% with a 27% outside rating.
Williams led all scorers with 32 points while adding 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Jameel Warney finished with 30 points and a game-high 14 rebounds and Pierre Jackson dished out a leading 12 assists while grabbing 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals of his own. Stephane Lasme had a record 6 blocks in his third game with the Legends while adding the team's third double-double of 11 points, 10 rebounds. Manny Harris rounded off the Legends double-digit scores with 22 points, 9 rebounds.
The D-Fenders had seven players in double-digits led by Vander Blue with 22 points, 7 rebounds and David Nwaba with the team's only double-double of 20 points, 10 rebounds.
