Jackals Announce Opening Night Roster

Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - October 14, 2016 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today the team's 2016-17 Opening Night roster. The Jackals roster is made up of 22 players, including 10 forwards, eight defensemen and two goalies, with one player on ECHL reserve and one starting the year on injured reserve.
To set the roster, the Jackals made a series of transactions. They released Louie Educate, Tommy Fiorentino, Andrew Harrison, Mike Slowikowski and Tyler Parks from their tryout agreements and received three players from Rochester on Thursday.
The Jackals season opening roster is listed below and it includes Horseheads native Joel Wetmore. Player/Assistant Coach Mike Duco opens the season on ECHL reserve and forward Mark Bennett has been placed on the injured reserve.
