
Hugo Lopez Wins Coach of the Year

Halifax (NS) - The NBL's Coach of the Year has been awarded to Hugo Lopez of the Halifax Hurricanes. In his first season with the Hurricanes, Lopez guided the team to a 29-11 record, tying the record for most wins by a first-year franchise.
Coach Lopez said, "This acknowledgement is not about one person, it's about the team. We accomplish everything as a unit. As their coach, I am proud of how players bought into the system from day one"
Coach Lopez has been involved with several top tier professional teams in the past, including his tenure in the Liga ACB at Real Madrid as an assistant coach, and Fuenlabrada as a head coach.
Halifax Hurricanes ended the regular season with the league best record in the NBL Canada and are making a strong push this post season for the title.
