Augusta GreenJackets News Release

North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, lost 10-8 in 10 innings to the Kannapolis Intimidators.

The GreenJackets entered the bottom of the ninth inning down 8-3 to the Intimidators. All hope seemed lost with only a runner on first and two-outs. Then the comeback was on as Kannapolis proceeded to walk six of the next seven GreenJacket batters. The only hit for the GreenJackets came from Shane Matheny with the bases loaded, when he drove in two runs with a single. With the GreenJackets down 8-7, Logan Baldwin came up with the bases loaded. Baldwin would earn a walk and be the sixth batter walked in the inning as the GreenJackets tied the game.

In the top of the 10th inning, the Intimidators would respond by putting up two runs to regain the lead 10-8. Augusta would get the winning run up to the plate, but in the end Kannapolis would pull off the victory.

The GreenJackets will be back in action tomorrow at 5:05 pm against Kannapolis Intimidators at SRP Park.

Tomorrow we will have a fireworks show and our SweetWater 90s themed jersey. Then to end the series on Sunday, we will have Bark in the Park!
